2007 Frogmore Creek Iced Riesling.

375ml $26.00
Riesling grapes grown at Relbia in the state's north and made by Alain Rousseau 8% alc/vol

Ageing Potential:
2011

Tasting Notes:
This is another Wellington wine that has had a name change. Hood Wines make this wine "in vitro" whereas the famous "Icewines" from Canada and Germany are made on the vine. The fruit is crushed and the juice temperature is slowly lowered to about -4C allowing the water in the grapes to freeze. The remaining juice is extraced and fermented, stopping at 9% alcohol. It is a luscious wine with concentrated riesling characters, fruit salad and Chinese gooseberry.

Food Suggestions:
Great with classy desserts, as well as blue vein cheese with a small slice of quince paste
