The  Providence Family

Brenda is still the secretary of the Tamar Valley Wine Route, as well as leading the marketing here at Providence.  Despite all my technical know-how, Brenda has always been able to write a mail-out that will achieve twice the results had I written it!  Oh well.....

Providence celebrated a wedding in June this year with the only sunny day we had had for weeks.  Brenda's daughter Jayne, married Steve at what was a great family occasion.  Later in the year we were presented with our second granddaughter, Isabella Jayde.  With Ben's three children we now have four in the next generation and grumpy gramps reckons enough is enough!

With every high there is often a low and in the same week as the wedding our middle grandson Harry was diagnosed with Leukeamia. We have seen the whole community rally behind the family as have the Cancer Council and the local Lions Club. The amount of support has been fantastic. Harry has been bravely accepting of all that has happened to him and the way the family has kept itself together and supported one another has made us very proud.

Daughter Emma is now back in Melbourne working as a contractor for her old firm, SMS.  Since I last reported, Emma has trecked Tierra del Feugo, Chile, Argentina and the Antarctic, as well as the Milford Sound Track in NZ.  In her copious free time (not!) she has also qualified as a personal trainer.

Lisa and partner Mike are still settled in Christchurch NZ.  Lisa has just negotiated a new package with her current employer and is looking forward to more responsibility.  We are now looking forward to a wedding on 6th December this year.

Gary the goat has shed his Winter coat and now no longer looks like he has been run over by a double-B truck.  He is enjoying his new "goat-lick".  Recently he has conducted a series of successful break-outs, which has resulted in some severe vine pruning.  Problem is Gary prunes one vine at a time - back to the wood!  If he is not careful he will wind up as goat vindaloo.
